Cojute dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana's 26. Cojute forced 21 Santa Ana turnovers. Dominican forward Frankyn Batista (198-1999, college: Pace) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American center Troidell Carter (206-1991, college: Slippery Rock) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Batista is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Cojute players scored in double figures. American Timothy Simmons (195-1992, college: DBU) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and Puerto Rican point guard Lee Vazquez (173-1991, college: Westfield St.) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Alberto Liriano (-1998) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Four Metapan players scored in double figures. Dominican guard Nargenis Ulloa (182-1997) replied with 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists and Dominican forward Adonis Lopez (-1997) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for San Salvador.
